Gift A Session is a way to book a therapy session for your loved one or sponsor for someone in need.(attach gift a session button here) After you fill the form, out team your reach out to the recipient and schedule a session as per their availability and therapist of choice.

Q8- What is the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist?

A psychiatrist will usually prescribe medications for your issues but a psychologist uses different therapeutic approaches and tools to help you with your mental health problems.

Q9- Can a therapist prescribe medication if I need it?

No, a therapist cannot prescribe you any medications.

Q10- Can my psychiatrist refer me to a therapist or vice versa?

Yes, your psychiatrist can refer you to a therapist or vice versa based on the symptoms you are experiencing. However, it is obviously not necessary that you’ll need both.

Q11-Can online sessions substitute face-to-face therapy?

Absolutely. Online sessions can actually be more helpful than face to face therapy since they offer a more comfortable and familiar enviornment.

Q12-How do I know I need therapy?

Therapy is for everyone. The goal of therapy for you might vary. For someone who has an active mental health issue, reducing the symptoms and geting back to a healthy state might be the goal whereas for someone who is in a healthier state may want to work on being an even healthier and more emotionally aware version of themselves.

Q13-Is online therapy safe and confidential?

Yes, online therapy is completely safe and confidential. We ensure your information is stored safely and kept private at all times unless you share a written consent for the same with us or there is threat to your or anyone else's life or a plan to cause harm. Your information can still be anonymously used for training and supervision within the team.

Q14-Can I book a session for someone else?

Yes, you can book a session for anyone you know, love or care for using Gift A Session.

Q15-What is the difference between counselling and therapy?

Counselling is a directive talking technique to promote clarity in thought and decision making. However, psychotherapy refers to using directive and non directive methods to resolve any psychological issues like overthinking, anxiety etc.

Q2- Who will be my therapist?

You will receive the available therapist’s profiles on your phone after filling out the form and you can choose your therapist from that list. If you would like some help in the same, you can let the admin know and they will match you with the best fit for your concerns.

Q3- How do I know my therapist is qualified?

Our experts have a minimum of Masters in Psychology and go through extensive rounds of assessment before coming onboard. We consistently map their efficiency with the help of your feedback, progress and domain experts.
This ensures the quality of your sessions is always at its best.
Know that your therapist spends hours reflecting and researching robust techniques and tools even outside of your sessions in order to create the best suited collaborative intervention plan for you. Session plans are also reviewed and revised in weekly meetings for all therapists to develop a robust approach for your health.
We assure you that they think about you before, during and after your session, ensuring you get the best care that you truly deserve.

Q4- How do I know I need counselling or psychotherapy?

Counselling refers to seeking help via talking more deeply and clearly about your issues with your psychologist with some new insights. However, therapy is more exercise based and is a longer process. Both also vary in terms of presenting problems. If you are diagnosed with a mental health problem like depression or generalised anxiety, you will benefit more with therapy while if you are struggling with smaller behavioural issues like expressing feelings and understanding other people, you can benefit by counselling too. Counselling and therapy however different, go hand in hand.

Q5- What issues can counselling/psychotherapy help with?

From day-to-day stressors, relationship problems, mental health illnesses or simpy wanting to work on yourself and be more aware and conscious, counselling or psychotherapy can help you greatly.

Q6- What kind of people seek counselling or psychotherapy?

Therapy is actually for everyone. The goal of therapy however can differ based on your concerns. If you are struggling with day to day stressors, relationship problems, mental health illness or simpy want to work on yourself and be more aware and conscious, therapy is for you.

Q7- What happens in a counselling session?

The first counselling session usually circles around all the issues that are distressing you. After understanding the issues, ther therapist might ask you questions regarding your past, present habits or future goals to draw the best suited plan for you. A counsellor will never judge whatever you say. Your information will be held in the confidence and never disclosed. Anything you feel you need or wish to share is welcome to be discussed in counselling/psychotherapy.

Q8- Can I stay anonymous?

Yes, absolutely. You can use a psedo name while booking a session however you will have to provide us with a contact number and email for communication and records.

Q9- What languages can I take the session in?

You can take a session in English or Hindi. For any other language access, you can get in touch with the admin.

Q10- How much does each therapy session cost?

Each therapy session can cost between INR 600-2500 depending on the experience and specialisation of the therapist.

Q11- How long is each session?

Each session is usually 50-60 minutes long.

Q12- How do I know how many sessions I need?

There are no exact number of sessions required by anyone. Counselling and therapy are ongoing processes where the number of sessions required can vary for all strongly depending on the issue you are facing and your recovery rate. While usually significant improvement can be seen in 5-6 sessions, you can discuss this in more detail with your psychologist in the first session.

Q13- I only want one session, will the therapist be able to help?

The first session mostly aims at history taking, rapport formation, identification of problem and developing a collaborative treatment plan with incorporating stablising techniques. However, if your issues are not too deep rooted just the first session can give you a lot of relief. However we do recommend taking a few sessions to see if its working for you or not.

Q14- How do I know which therapeutic approach is best suited for me?

You can speak to the admin/your therapist and briefly explain your issues and they will be able to align you for the best suited therapeutic approach to achieve your goals and also explain the process of the same.

Q15- How do I know which therapist is best for me?

After receiving the therapist profiles, if you are unsure of who to choose, you can let the admin know and they will assist you in choosing the right therapist for your needs.

Q16- What if I want to try multiple therapies?

Most therapists these days used a more integrative approach which includes a mix of multiple different therapeutic approaches. Furthermore, you can speak to your therapist about which therapeutic approach you are most comfortable with and your therapist should be able to accommodate the same or refer you to a better suited therapist.

Q17- How can I get in touch with my therapist after the session?

You will get chat and mail access with your therapist after your session. You can text/mail them at any time and your therapist is likely to respond 1-2 times a day as per their schedule.

Q18- How will I communicate to my therapist?

Your therapist will reach out to you themselves at the time of the session after which admin will share their contact details. You can WhatsApp or Email your queries to your therapist and they will typically reply 1-2 times a day as per their schedule.

Q19- What mode of communication is used for therapy session?

There are three modes of communication you can use for your therapy session. These are

  • Chat(Career/WhatsApp)
  • Voice call(Carrier/WhatsApp/Gmeet)
  • Video Call(Gmeet or Zoom)
  • If none of these work for you, you can get in touch with the admin and discuss other options that work for you.

    Q20- How do Chat Sessions work?

    For a Chat Session, your therapist will text you at the time of the session on the medium chosen by you- WhatsApp, Text Messages etc.

    Q21- How do Voice Call Sessions work?

    For a Voice Call Session, your therapist will call you at the time of the session on the medium chosen by you- WhatsApp, Carrier etc

    Q22- How do Video Call Sessions work?

    For a Video Call Session, your therapist will send you the session link atleast 30 minutes in advance via chat or email.

    Q23- How is the first session different from later ones?

    The first counselling session usually circles around all the issues that are distressing you. After understanding the issues, ther therapist might ask you questions regarding your past, present habits or future goals to draw the best suited plan for you. The future sessions are based more on how to implement and modify and adapt to that plan to achieve your desired goals.

    Q24- What will be the frequency of my sessions?

    The sessions are at a gap of 7 days. However it can be a little less or more as per discretion of your therapist.

    Q25- Can I have more than one session a week?

    Yes, if you think you need more than one session a week, you can do so by contacting the admin at +91 8130210469.

    Q26- How do I know therapy is working for me?

    To start feeling relief after therapy and being able to relax with theraputic tool from time to time is very significant. Eventually you can also see yourself able to process emotions with a lot more ease and start automatically implementing changes in behaviour patterns you know therapy is working for you.

    Q27- How soon before I can see results?

    Though there is no fixed number that works for all. You can seesignificant improvement in as few as 3-4 sessions if you are consistent and follow your homework.

    Q28- How do I know if I'm compatible with my therapist?

    Compatibility with your therapist is - when you feel like you have a safe space to talk in and you feel completely accepted and validated. It helps if your therapist validates everything you say and you feel the conversation is free flowing. Your therapist can start to feel like your friend but with certain professional boundaries intact.
