No, a therapist cannot prescribe you any medications.
Yes, your psychiatrist can refer you to a therapist or vice versa based on the symptoms you are experiencing. However, it is obviously not necessary that you’ll need both.
Absolutely. Online sessions can actually be more helpful than face to face therapy since they offer a more comfortable and familiar enviornment.

Counselling refers to seeking help via talking more deeply and clearly about your issues with your psychologist with some new insights. However, therapy is more exercise based and is a longer process. Both also vary in terms of presenting problems. If you are diagnosed with a mental health problem like depression or generalised anxiety, you will benefit more with therapy while if you are struggling with smaller behavioural issues like expressing feelings and understanding other people, you can benefit by counselling too. Counselling and therapy however different, go hand in hand.

Each therapy session can cost between INR 600-2500 depending on the experience and specialisation of the therapist.
Each session is usually 50-60 minutes long.
There are no exact number of sessions required by anyone. Counselling and therapy are ongoing processes where the number of sessions required can vary for all strongly depending on the issue you are facing and your recovery rate. While usually significant improvement can be seen in 5-6 sessions, you can discuss this in more detail with your psychologist in the first session.
The first session mostly aims at history taking, rapport formation, identification of problem and developing a collaborative treatment plan with incorporating stablising techniques. However, if your issues are not too deep rooted just the first session can give you a lot of relief. However we do recommend taking a few sessions to see if its working for you or not.
You can speak to the admin/your therapist and briefly explain your issues and they will be able to align you for the best suited therapeutic approach to achieve your goals and also explain the process of the same.
After receiving the therapist profiles, if you are unsure of who to choose, you can let the admin know and they will assist you in choosing the right therapist for your needs.
Most therapists these days used a more integrative approach which includes a mix of multiple different therapeutic approaches. Furthermore, you can speak to your therapist about which therapeutic approach you are most comfortable with and your therapist should be able to accommodate the same or refer you to a better suited therapist.
You will get chat and mail access with your therapist after your session. You can text/mail them at any time and your therapist is likely to respond 1-2 times a day as per their schedule.
Your therapist will reach out to you themselves at the time of the session after which admin will share their contact details. You can WhatsApp or Email your queries to your therapist and they will typically reply 1-2 times a day as per their schedule.
There are three modes of communication you can use for your therapy session. These are
For a Chat Session, your therapist will text you at the time of the session on the medium chosen by you- WhatsApp, Text Messages etc.
For a Voice Call Session, your therapist will call you at the time of the session on the medium chosen by you- WhatsApp, Carrier etc
For a Video Call Session, your therapist will send you the session link atleast 30 minutes in advance via chat or email.

Though there is no fixed number that works for all. You can seesignificant improvement in as few as 3-4 sessions if you are consistent and follow your homework.
Compatibility with your therapist is - when you feel like you have a safe space to talk in and you feel completely accepted and validated. It helps if your therapist validates everything you say and you feel the conversation is free flowing. Your therapist can start to feel like your friend but with certain professional boundaries intact.
